Objective- This cross-sectional study was conducted with the objective of determining the visual problems of secondary school teachers in Onitsha. Materials and Methods- Three hundred and forty teachers were selected by multistage sampling method, from ten (10) secondary schools in Onitsha. A self-administered, pre-tested questionnaire was used to elicit information on their socio-demographic characteristics and ocular health. Ocular examination included distance and near visual acuities, refraction, external eye examination with the pen light, funduscopy with the direct ophthalmoscope, colour vision test with the Ishihara’s chart, and measurement of amplitude of accommodation using the near point of accommodation method.
