Introduction- Bacterial and fungal Keratitis are potentially vision threatening conditions that require prompt diagnosis and treatment to prevent untoward outcome. Aims and objectives- This is a longitudinal cross-sectional study to determine the presentation and outcome of bacterial and fungal keratitis among patients that presented to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, (U.I.T.H) Ilorin, Nigeria between January 2012 and December 2012 Methodology- All patients with clinical features of infective keratitis that presented within the study period to the Ophthalmology Department of U.I.T.H were studied. Sociodemographic data and information pertaining to risk factors (trauma, topical steroid application, contact lens wear e.t.c) and other clinical features were obtained by the use of questionnaire designed for the research. All the participants underwent ocular examination with Haag Streit 900 BQ imaging modules slit lamp biomicroscope and corneal scrapings which were taken and sent for microbiological examination in the microbiology laboratory of the hospital. The outcome measures included interval between onset and presentation, aetiology of keratitis, extent of corneal involvement and final visual acuity
