Aim: To determine the prevalence and causes of ocular disorders and visual impairment among school children in Ekiadolor, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. Materials and methods: A cross sectional study of children in 4 schools in Ekiadolor was carried out in February 2008. They were examined with the aid of visual acuity charts, a pen torch, hand held slit lamp, direct ophthalmoscope and a non-contact pulsair tonometer. The findings were recorded in a questionnaire designed for the study.
