Abstract

Health- related quality of life (HRQoL) is a comprehensive and multidimensional assessment of the physical, mental and social well- being of individuals. It can be impacted negatively by chronic disorders such as obesity. Many studies particularly in high income countries have demonstrated impaired HRQoL among obese adolescents. Some studies in Nigeria suggest a high prevalence of adolescent obesity ; and its physical and psychosocial consequences are increasingly being reported. However, the effect of obesity on HRQoL has not been explored in Abeokuta. AAin selected secondary schools in Abeokuta and determine the difference (if any) between them
