Hormonal contraceptives have continued to be of wide use amongst women of the reproductive age. These preparations have varying influence on the body macromolecules (carbohydrates, proteins and lipids).The study focuses on the effect of depot noresthisterone enanthate (NET-EN) on serum lipids profile. AIM This study was performed to know the effect of long acting injectable hormonal contraceptive, norethisterone enanthate on the lipid profiles of women attending the family planning clinic of Adeoyo Maternity Hospital, Ibadan. METHODOLOGY The lipid profiles of forty nine (49) women attending the Family Planning Clinic of Adeoyo Maternity Hospital, Ibadan and accepting Norethisterone enanthate as contraceptive method was estimated.
