Abstract

Objective: The main purpose of this study was to establish if Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is associated with adverse pregnancy outcome among pregnant women attending antenatal clinic in LUTH. Methods: High vaginal swabs were taken from pregnant women between 14- 36 weeks gestation. The swabs were spread on a glass slide, air dried, and later Gram stained. BV was diagnosed using the Nugent’s criteria. Ultrasound was performed to confirm gestational age and all the pregnant women were followed up till postpartum. The neonates were also followed up till discharge.
