Background: People with albinism generally have impaired vision. Many people with albinism in Enugu State were observed not to be using any spectacle or low vision device. Those who come to seek the opinion of an ophthalmologist concerning their vision are reluctant to procure glasses. This study sought to identify their common ocular manifestations and the visual outcome of spectacle correction and or low vision aids. Materials and Methods: This was a descriptive study of one hundred and fifty three (153) persons with albinism seen in Enugu State between the months of August 2011 to January 2012. They were recruited consecutively, interviewed and had a comprehensive vision and eye examination. Data obtained was subjected to descriptive and inferential statistics. For all inter-group comparisons, a p value of < 0.05 was accepted as statistically significant. LogMAR acuity scores were analyzed and converted to Snellen and N unit equivalents.
